Tabúcha takes home 3-Star Great Taste 2026 award for its Vanilla Tartary Buckwheat Tea

Judged by the Guild of Fine Food’s expert panel, Vanilla Tartary Buckwheat Tea by Tabúcha has been awarded a Great Taste 3-Star Award in the world's most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme.

Out of more than 15,000 products entered into the 2026 awards, just 2% received the coveted 3-Star award, placing Tabúcha amongst the very best food and drink products tasted by the Great Taste judging panel this year. A total of 4,286 products were awarded a Great Taste 1-Star – 'simply delicious', 1,596 received a Great Taste 2-Star – 'outstanding', and just 306 achieved the highest accolade of Great Taste 3-Star – 'exquisite'.

Building on the brand's previous success, when its Vanilla Tartary Buckwheat Tea received a 2-Star Great Taste Award in 2023, this latest achievement reflects Tabúcha's continued commitment to exceptional flavour, carefully selected natural ingredients, and reimagining Tartary Buckwheat as a modern wellness ritual.

Made from Tartary Buckwheat, Tabúcha's award-winning Vanilla Tartary Buckwheat Tea is blended with all-natural vanilla flavouring and roasted cacao nibs, creating a smooth, comforting infusion with a naturally sweet, biscuit-like flavour. Naturally caffeine-free, rich in antioxidants and a source of fibre, it offers a wholesome alternative to traditional tea and coffee without any added sugar. The roasted kernels can be re-brewed up to three times before being enjoyed as a delicious topping for porridge, yoghurt or smoothies, making it a naturally low-waste product.

Founded in 2023, Tabúcha was inspired by Eastern European and Central Asian traditions, where buckwheat has long been cherished for both its nourishing qualities and comforting taste. Today, the brand is on a mission to introduce this remarkable ingredient to a wider audience through a modern, premium tea experience.

The Great Taste judges described the tea as:

The light brewed liquor with a clean, natural, uplifting flavour with nutty notes that give body and character – delicate but very well-balanced and refreshing.”

The liquor on the palate is so delicate, like drinking a high quality chocolate drink, but pale and light. The chemistry that produces this brilliant clear liquid from these dark full-bodied ingredients feels like magic.

Anna-Maria, Co-Founder of Tabúcha, said:

"Being awarded with a Great Taste 3-star means so much to independent producers like us and is an incredible honour and a milestone we are immensely proud of. To see our Vanilla Tartary Buckwheat Tea recognised amongst the very best products entered this year is a testament to the quality of our ingredients, the distinctive flavour we strive to create, and the passion that goes into everything we do."

The award marks another exciting milestone for the growing London-based wellness brand as it continues expanding its presence across retail, hospitality and wellness sectors, introducing more people to the unique flavour, nutritional benefits of Tartary Buckwheat Tea.
